You have probably heard all about how to sell your home, and what sort of home improvements you need to make, but do you know how to arrange your home in an appealing way? There are some tried and true ways to tempt even the most difficult home buyer, and the following tricks are sure to bring in more than a few offers on your home.First, make sure that you create as much space as possible within your home. Take away as much furniture as possible (while still leaving a few pieces); clean out hallways; and make sure that closets are not filled to the brim with miscellaneous objects. You want to create a feeling of continuous air throughout your home, which means eliminating anything that creates clutter.

Next, clean off your counters. Amazingly, most home owners do not think about their counters and table tops when hosting an open house. However, if your countertops are filled with magazines, knick knacks, and useless pieces of paper - get rid of them. Make sure that all surfaces are completely wiped clean, and never neglect your counter space.

Then, think about children. Again, making sure that a home is baby proof is not something most home owners think about. But, if your target buyer is a younger family, a home that is safe for baby will be a large selling point. If you see things around your home that would not be safe for an infant, fix them.

The next thing to think about is the overall smell of your home. Far too often, home owners that smoke neglect to clear the air before allowing visitors to enter a home. Nobody wants to walk into a house that is filled with stale cigarette smoke. If you happen to be a smoker, you probably cannot even smell the smoke that is lingering in your home. Therefore, as a non-smoking friend to walk through your home and do a quick “sniff test.” If you home smells of smoke, have it professionally cleaned.

Finally, make sure that you open up your home in order to allow lots of outside light. Buyers often look for homes that showcase a massive amount of light and air, so open those shades. Preparing your home for sale is not difficult, but it does require a step back in order to see those things in need of repair. Remember to look all around your home; clean out any smells; and consider making your home baby safe.
